Sr Principal Electrical Engineer, CRM

Senior Principal Electrical Engineer position within Medtronic's Cardiac Rhythm Management division, responsible for designing and verifying complex mixed-signal electronics for implantable cardiac devices and external systems. Role combines technical leadership of engineering teams with hardware block ownership, supporting the development of life-saving medical technology.
Responsibilities
- Drive definition, design, integration, and verification of mixed-signal electronics for cardiac devices
- Provide technical leadership on complex R&D programs and mentor electrical engineering teams
- Own key hardware blocks including mixed-signal, analog, digital, RF, and PCB layout architectures
- Develop test plans, characterization methods, and verification strategies for new designs
- Lead technical design reviews, root-cause investigations, and cross-functional integration efforts
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree with 10+ years relevant experience, or Master's with 8+ years, or PhD with 6+ years
- Demonstrated technical leadership and principal-level ownership of complex electrical designs
- Strong proficiency in analog and mixed-signal circuit design, analysis, and debugging
- Experience with PCB design methodology, CAD tools, and manufacturing processes
- Expertise designing for high-reliability or safety-critical applications
- Hands-on debugging skills with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, RF analyzers, and measurement tools
- Circuit simulation expertise and RF design or evaluation experience
