Principal Electrical Engineer, CRM

Principal Electrical Engineer supporting Cardiac Rhythm Management product development at Medtronic in Minneapolis. The role involves designing, analyzing, and verifying implantable medical devices and external systems across all development phases, with potential to lead technical teams.
Responsibilities
- Lead and provide technical direction on complex electrical design programs for 5-10 engineer teams
- Design, develop, analyze, and debug analog and digital circuitry for implantable and external medical devices
- Develop test procedures, environments, and automation for electrical design characterization and verification
- Mentor junior-level engineers and support manufacturing sites with PCB and device assembly
- Interpret system requirements, verify compliance, and integrate electronics with firmware and mechanical designs
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree plus 7 years relevant experience, or Master's degree plus 5 years, or PhD plus 3 years
- Technical leadership ability demonstrated through prior experience
- Strong PCB design methodology knowledge including CAD tools and manufacturing
- Expertise in circuit simulation using PSPICE or LTSPICE
- Experience with Class III medical device design, verification, and validation
- Familiarity with ISO 14708 and/or IEC60601 standards
- Strong oral and written communication skills
