Role Description The Site Safety and Health Officer is a full-time, on-site role based in Florida, United States, responsible for overseeing and implementing safety and health programs at project locations. This role involves conducting daily site inspections, hazard assessments, and safety audits to ensure compliance with OSHA, contractual, and company standards. The officer prepares and updates site-specific safety plans, maintains safety documentation, and leads safety meetings, briefings, and trainings for project personnel and subcontractors. Daily responsibilities include incident and near-miss reporting, coordinating corrective actions, working closely with project management to integrate safety into work plans, and serving as the primary point of contact for safety-related issues with clients and regulatory authorities. The role also requires continuous monitoring of work activities, promoting a strong safety culture, and supporting emergency preparedness and response plans. Qualifications Demonstrated expertise in occupational safety and health, including development and implementation of site safety plans and job hazard analyses. Strong knowledge of OSHA standards, federal and state safety regulations, and industry best practices applicable to construction, environmental, or facilities projects. Experience conducting safety inspections, audits, incident investigations, and root cause analyses, with a track record of driving corrective and preventive actions. Effective communication skills for delivering safety briefings and training, preparing clear reports, and engaging diverse project teams and subcontractors. Proficiency in using digital tools and standard office software to manage safety documentation, reporting, and data tracking. Relevant certifications such as OSHA 30-hour (Construction or General Industry), CHST, CSP, or equivalent safety credentials are highly beneficial. Prior experience as a Site Safety and Health Officer, Safety Manager, or similar role on government, industrial, or large commercial projects in the United States. Ability to work on-site in varying environmental conditions, exercise sound judgment, and maintain a proactive, detail-oriented approach to risk mitigation.
