Network Engineer

This is a newly created position to help meet the IT needs of Fortinet’s rapidly growing workforce. With over 15,000 people worldwide (and growing) and the implementation of new IT systems, we are looking for a beginner-to-intermediate-level Network Engineer to help us ensure 24x7 network support. In this critical role you will be based at Fortinet Headquarters at Sunnyvale, California and support our global distribution of network and server systems. This is an excellent opportunity to join a network security company and utilize the latest systems and equipment to support our network availability. Responsibilities:Work under the guidance of senior network engineers to deploy new communication network for Fortinet current/new offices within the USA.Execute initial configurations of Fortigates, FortiSwitches, console servers, network PDUs, monitoring devices, etc.Install and upgrade network hardware; configure firewall policies.Gathering information, documenting, and updating network topologies.Ordering network devices, rack-mounting, and cabling.Respond, troubleshoot and resolve first-level support requestsCoordinates and communicates with usersParticipate in an on-call rotation for support of systems outside of normal business hoursTravels about 7 times per year within the US to assist with deployment and maintenance of Fortinet offices networks.Skills and requirements:Understanding of networking hardware and infrastructureExperience with network devices installation and network physical connectionsVery good understanding of Layer 2 and Layer 3 network protocolsFortinet NSE 4 certification is a requirement for this positionOther certifications in network engineering are a plusStrong multi-tasking abilitiesExcellent teamwork, can-do attitude, and communication skills with end-users are essential.Excellent English oral and written.Education:AA/BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering (or equivalent education and experience)Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.Fortinet offers employees a variety of benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, 401(k), 11 paid holidays, vacation time, and sick time as well as a comprehensive leave program. Wage ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, and job level. Earnings for this position are expected to be $89,000 - $140,000. Exact salary offers will be determined by factors such as the candidate's subject knowledge, skill level, qualifications, experience, and geographic location.
