Join a dedicated healthcare team in the Southeastern United States region as a Health Information Technician III, working full-time during daytime hours. This role involves thorough review and analysis of patient records to ensure compliance with documentation standards set by accrediting bodies and regulatory agencies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Organize, analyze, and evaluate patient records to confirm all required documentation is complete and accurate according to Joint Commission and other regulatory standards.
• Coordinate and follow up independently on chart completion issues, ensuring timely resolution and communication with physicians and healthcare providers.
• Serve as a primary contact for chart completion inquiries and assist in training new staff members.
• Release patient records in accordance with established guidelines and legal requirements, including responding to requests with proper authorization.
• Assist with quality assurance, risk management, and medical record committee reviews.
• Support the management of incomplete chart reports and expedite chart completion for billing and reimbursement purposes.
• Prepare necessary documentation related to patient deaths and assist families with release procedures.

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent is required.

Experience:

At least one year of experience in health information management or a related field is necessary.

Skills and Abilities:

• Familiarity with medical record formats and content.
• Typing speed of 40-45 words per minute or demonstrated keyboard proficiency.
• Intermediate computer skills, especially in Windows environments.
• Basic understanding of medical terminology.
• Knowledge of documentation requirements from regulatory agencies such as the Joint Commission.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
• Attention to detail and quality, with excellent recall and recognition abilities.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements:

• Extended periods of sitting with occasional reaching, bending, stooping, pushing, and pulling.
