Title Institutional Review Board Compliance Manager Position Overview The Office of Research Compliance (ORC) at the University of North Texas Health Science Center, in conjunction with the North Texas Regional Institutional Review Board (NTR IRB), seeks to hire an IRB Compliance Manager. This position will report directly to the Director of the NTR IRB and will work closely with the ORC. Responsibilities include developing and implementing human research protection protocols, conducting administrative and regulatory reviews of IRB submissions, providing education and training to researchers, preparing documents for IRB review, overseeing committee meetings, and supporting compliance training and outreach activities. Job Duties Assist the NTR IRB Director with daily operations, including development and implementation of human research protection for all partners. Perform comprehensive administrative and regulatory reviews of IRB submissions (biomedical, clinical trial, and social/behavioral science studies) to ensure compliance with federal, state, and institutional policies. Conduct ongoing education and training for researchers to ensure compliance with human subject research regulations. Prepare documents for IRB review, including comments and pre‑review notes for Board Members. Assist with oversight, attendance, and coordination of IRB committee meetings, and communicate outcomes to investigators and institutional officials. Help develop and roll out in‑house compliance training programs, workshops, seminars, and guidance documents related to IRB and human subject research. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree and four (4) years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Thorough knowledge of appropriate federal regulatory agencies (FDA, OHRP). Skill set in development and update of web sites, web pages, and online outreach and training tools. Well‑developed organizational, analytical, and attention‑to‑detail skills; objective observation. Exceptionally strong written, verbal, and presentation skills; education and training experience in higher education preferred. Highly collaborative, shows initiative, high level of professionalism, maturity, diplomacy, and strict confidentiality. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a health sciences field, Master’s degree preferred. Three years of human subject research experience or in an IRB‑related role. Certified IRB Professional (CIP) certification or eligibility. Experience with critical thinking, project management, document management, and client interactions. One to three years across all categories in a hospital research setting, university, or clinical research operation.
