IT Operations Specialist

Rockland Trust is seeking a qualified IT Operations Specialist to join its Information Technology team in support of critical enterprise systems and operations. The incumbent will be responsible for coordinating and executing file transfer processes, managing and resolving IT incidents / problems, supporting disaster recovery initiatives, coordinating and monitoring backup, including basic network troubleshooting to ensure system reliability and operational continuity. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in IT operations, demonstrate a proactive and methodical approach to problem-solving, and exhibit the ability to effectively document processes and monitor system performance. This position requires the capacity to function within a 24/7 operational environment and includes participation in a rotational on-call schedule. Responsibilities * Configure, manage, and monitor Managed File Transfer (MFT) processes, including scheduled and ad-hoc transfers, ensuring secure and reliable data movement * Administer and monitor enterprise job scheduling tools to support timely execution of data processing and report distribution; troubleshoot and resolve job failures * Facilitates the incident management process, ensuring effective coordination, escalation, communication, and resolution * Coordinate and execute disaster recovery (DR) activities, including regular testing and validation of data integrity * Monitor and maintain backup processes; validate recoverability to support business continuity * Troubleshoot basic network and connectivity issues; monitor performance and escalate complex issues as needed * Develop and maintain operational documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs), runbooks, and system logs * Collaborate with internal IT teams, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure operational efficiency and adherence to security best practices * Support continuous improvement initiatives across IT operations  Requirements: * Minimum of 4 years of experience in IT operations, data center environments, or infrastructure support * Proven experience supporting mission-critical systems, including incident management, job scheduling, file transfers, and disaster recovery * Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field * Experience working in financial services or regulated environments is a plus

• Hands-on experience with enterprise job scheduling tools (e.g., BIC

Scheduler, Control-M) and Managed File Transfer (MFT) platforms such as MOVEit * Knowledge of backup methodologies (full, incremental, differential) and tools such as Cohesity, NetBackup, Veeam, or similar * Understanding of disaster recovery concepts, including RTO/RPO objectives, and experience participating in DR testing * Basic networking knowledge, including TCP/IP, DNS, FTPS/SFTP, and firewall concepts * Familiarity with ITIL processes (incident, problem, change management) and ticketing systems such as Ivanti, or ServiceNow * Experience with system monitoring tools and log analysis to ensure infrastructure health and performance * Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis, reporting, and basic automation (e.g., pivot tables, XLOOKUP, macros)  Willingness to participate in a rotational on-call schedule, including early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays, to support 24/7 operations * This is a full-time position, based in the United States, and all work must be performed from within the United States unless otherwise authorized by the Company.
