Purchasing clerk

Local company in Cartersvilel is looking for a purchasing clerk to join their team. This position is in office Monday through Friday 8am-5pm but depending on needs could go to a swing shift 7am-7pm if needed. Must be flexible with your schedule. MUST have purchasing experience, preferably in manufacturing. Starting rate is $20/hour or higher depending on experience. Send resumes to View email address on click.appcast.io

Responsibilities

• Follow purchasing and inventory control procedures and sequence of operations within department to optimize work flow.
• Review market, price, delivery conditions and trends to determine present and future material sourcing.
• Build and maintain supplier relationships to obtain optimal delivery, quality and price.
• Negotiate as needed to obtain optimal delivery, quality and price.
• Assist with compliance procedures in C-TPAT program.
• Assist in other duties and projects as assigned.
Communication - effectively and professionally conveys information internally and externally through verbal and written
communication skills. Actively listens, communicates clearly, concisely and assures understanding.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office / Google Tools suite of programs.
• Experience in using SAP interface / systems preferred.
• Experience in warehouse management (parts management) systems preferred.
