Purchasing Agent

The Purchasing Agent will purchase supplies and materials at the optimal price and delivery cycle while maintaining efficient inventory levels. The role involves establishing and maintaining business relationships with various vendors to achieve optimal purchasing efficiency, providing exceptional customer service internally and externally, and maintaining professionalism while handling purchasing duties.

Essential responsibilities include following purchasing and inventory control procedures, reviewing market, price, delivery conditions and trends to determine present and future material sourcing, building and maintaining supplier relationships to obtain optimal delivery, quality and price, negotiating as needed to obtain optimal delivery, quality and price, and assisting with compliance procedures in C-TPAT program.

Essential skills include effective communication, proficiency in Microsoft Office / Google Tools suite of programs, experience in using SAP interface / systems, experience in warehouse management (parts management) systems, detail-oriented and organized, problem solving, customer service, quality control, dependability, integrity, and safety and security.

Essential qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, 2 or more years of experience with proven results working in a purchasing, planning, accounting or customer service business environment, working knowledge of email, internet and Microsoft Office Software, a valid GA Driver's license with safe driving history, and satisfactory results of criminal background check.
