We are seeking an experienced technical lead and project manager to assist the overall North American team and to grow the team in Houston, Texas. As the Senior Principal, Ports & Marine Terminals team, you will leverage your experience to provide oversight and technical management to projects across North America and to grow the Texas practice managing the design and delivery of projects. You will play a pivotal role in expanding our client and project base and in efforts to position the firm to acquire new business in the Texas market and beyond.In this position, you will have the opportunity to work as part of the PMT team of planners, engineers and technologists on multiple projects for a range of public and private sector clients. You are responsible for developing and implementing an engineering discipline group equipped with up-to-date engineering and design tools and innovations, technical and supervisory capabilities, and operating procedures to successfully and efficiently execute projects and consulting services resulting in client satisfaction and on-time delivery.Your Key ResponsibilitiesServes as a technical resource for PMT teams across North America.Responsible for marine structures and other port related projects of varying complexity.Leads the development of proposals for port development projectsDevelops project work plans and ensures execution through oversight and management of the project team. Evaluates, selects, specifies, and engineers all structural engineered systems or products for a project.Engages in the development of a design through analysis, design, drawings, electronic models, diagrams, and other visual formats.Prepares and revises documentation through various project phases including site plans, sections, diagrams, and details.Leads project coordination meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants, owner and contractor, sub-contractors, and vendors. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
