This is a support position for the servers as well as grooming of the restaurant / club and its perimeters. Duties and Responsibilities Obtain service area assignments at the beginning of each shift Run food from the kitchen and deliver food to guests’ tables in a timely manner Assist with preparing appetizers and assist sous chefs with other food prep Promptly greet guests as they are seated and bring crudité, water and bread to the tables Clear table after guests leave, take tableware to dish room and place silverware, dishes, glassware, etc. in appropriate areas for washing Between seatings, promptly clean table tops, chairs and booths. Check floor and clean as required. Reset and arrange tabletop Respond immediately and appropriately to guest requests. Communicate these requests to server immediately Communicate with server, host and Maitre’ D to assure efficient seating, table utilization and guest service Assist server as needed with food delivery, especially with larger parties and peak periods Thank guests as they are leaving Maintain a high level of personal cleanliness and immaculate uniform presentation Be a team player; help out fellow staff whenever possible Qualifications Knowledge, Skills and Attributes Must be able to effectively communicate Must be able to follow directions with focus to detail Must be able to work under minimal supervision Must be able to fulfill physical requirements of the job: carry heavy trays and furniture from time to time (30lb) Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours) Experience Min. 1 year in high volume, upscale restaurant or hotel.
