Accounts Receivable / Collections Specialist

Kforce has a client that is seeking a Accounts Receivable/Collections Specialist in Ridgeland, MS. Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Receivable/Collections Specialist to manage customer accounts, collect outstanding balances, and support cash flow objectives. This role is responsible for monitoring aging accounts, resolving payment discrepancies, coordinating with third-party collection agencies, and maintaining strong customer relationships while ensuring timely collections. The ideal candidate has B2B collections experience, strong customer service skills, and the ability to effectively manage a high volume of accounts. Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and collect outstanding accounts receivable balances
• Contact customers regarding past-due invoices through phone, email, and written correspondence
• Monitor aging reports and prioritize collection efforts to reduce delinquent balances
• Research and resolve billing discrepancies, payment issues, and customer disputes
• Reconcile customer accounts and investigate outstanding balances
• Coordinate with third-party collection agencies on escalated accounts
• Track collection activity and maintain accurate account notes and documentation
• Process account adjustments, credits, and payment applications as needed
• Partner with Sales, Customer Service, and Finance teams to resolve customer issues
• Assist with cash flow forecasting and collections reporting
• Identify high-risk accounts and recommend appropriate collection actions
• Ensure compliance with company policies and collection procedures
• 2+ years of Accounts Receivable and/or B2B Collections experience
• Experience working with third-party collection agencies
• Experience researching and resolving account discrepancies
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and ERP/accounting systems
• Strong customer service and relationship management skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent attention to detail and follow-through
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
