Marketing Intern

About the Role Merkle Retirement Planning is looking for a Marketing Intern to support our Marketing Team across digital content, campaigns, email marketing, analytics, creative projects, and day-to-day marketing operations. This is a hands-on opportunity for someone who is interested in building practical marketing experience across multiple channels. You’ll help keep marketing initiatives organized, accurate, on-brand, and moving forward while gaining exposure to both the creative and analytical sides of marketing. This internship will run from September 2026 to May 2027. Interns must be available to work 15-20 hours per week during the school year and during normal business hours, with flexibility for occasional Merkle Retirement Planning-sponsored client events outside of normal business hours. Qualifications We’re looking for someone who brings: Excellent written and verbal communication skills A strong interest in marketing and graphic design Creativity and strong visual communication abilities Keen attention to detail Strong time-management and organizational skills The ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment A collaborative mindset and positive attitude Openness to feedback and a willingness to learn Responsibilities Social Media & Content Publishing: Schedule and publish approved social content, maintain the social media calendar, assist with YouTube publishing, and review live content for accuracy. Campaign & Marketing Analytics: Gather and organize campaign results, pull metrics across digital channels, track performance against goals, identify basic trends, and help maintain accurate links, UTMs, and reporting. Email Marketing: Build and format emails using approved templates and brand standards, add campaign elements, proof emails, and assist with scheduling. Design & Creative Support: Complete simple design projects, resize and adapt existing graphics, and make basic updates to approved marketing materials. Marketing Operations & Team Support: Help maintain budget and expense tracking, organize marketing files and assets, assist with event and workshop materials, and support special projects.
