Senior Environmental EngineerDelphinus Engineering is seeking a Senior Environmental Engineer to support our customers with US Navy tasking. This position will support the Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock Division (NSWCCD) and Naval Surface Warfare Center Philadelphia Division (NSWCPD) with various environmental projects related to US Navy Hull, Mechanical, & Electrical (HM&E) systems.Principal duties and responsibilities include managing customer needs and technical requirements, designing waste management systems, collaborating with customers and stakeholders on requirements and solutions for various environmental waste aspects of the machinery and systems aboard US Navy vessels and at NSWCPD, supporting existing systems delivered to the Navy, advising Navy teams on system design and development strategies, leading projects through the systems engineering process, leading technical exchange meetings, mentoring junior engineers, providing system-level troubleshooting and root cause analysis efforts, ensuring adherence to Navy and DoD standards, creating and updating technical documentation, troubleshooting and correcting malfunctions, and participating in special projects as required.Required education and experience include a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related scientific discipline, 20 years of experience in engineering experience in environmental systems for US Navy applications, and experience working with NAVSEA, NSWCPD, and NSWCDS. Skills and requirements include engineering and design skills in shipboard waste management systems, ability to work with software applications to aid in design and analysis, organization skills, tracking various efforts, tasks, and people progressing on project activities, ability to understand priorities and anticipate project risks and needs, effective time management skills, ability to collaborate on a large, geographically distributed, cross functional team, ability to work independently, strong written and verbal communication skills, understanding of process definition and frameworks, familiarity with collaboration tools, and familiarity with software such as AutoDesk / AutoCAD, Microsoft Project, Visio.Special requirements include candidates must have an active government security clearance or the ability to obtain security clearance, and travel may be up to 20%. Working conditions include performing work at client site locations in an office and lab environments, additional work may be performed onboard US Navy Ships (pier side and at sea), which requires proper safety precautions and ability to go up and down shipboard stairways (ladders); work may require some physical effort in the handling of light materials, boxes, or equipment.Salary range: $140K - $160K annually.EOE Statement: We are an equal employment opportunity employer.
