Waconia Public School ISD 110 is seeking candidates for the position of Senior Accountant
Waconia Public Schools is a growing school district located in the western suburbs of Minneapolis. The district serves approximately 4,000 students from the communities of Waconia, Victoria, Minnetrista, Saint Bonifacius and New Germany. District facilities include an educational services and enrichment center, an area learning center, three elementary schools (K-5), one middle school (6-8), and one high school (9-12).

Position Summary : Under the direction of the Director of Finance & Operations, the Senior Accountant is responsible for the administration and maintenance of the District's accounting systems, financial reporting, audit coordination, grant accounting, financial compliance reporting, fixed asset accounting, capital project accounting, and general ledger functions. The position ensures compliance with Minnesota Uniform Financial Accounting and Reporting Standards (UFARS), Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) requirements, and all applicable state and federal regulations. The Senior Accountant serves as a technical accounting resource to district staff and supports the efficient operation of the Finance Department through the development, implementation, and maintenance of sound accounting practices, internal controls, and financial reporting systems.

Qualifications: At least three years of progressively responsible accounting or financial management experience, including supervisory experience. Experience in Minnesota School Finance and Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification preferred. Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field. Experience with UFARS, GAAP, GASB, SERVS Financial, SEDRA, MEGS, Skyward or comparable ERP systems


Compensation: $64,231 - $80,634 depending upon qualifications, plus a generous benefits package that starts on your first day of employment, see more information on our website-
