Application Deadline: 08/15/2026 Address: 320 S Canal Street Job Family Group: Commercial Sales & Service Bilingual AVP, Portfolio Manager-Asset Based Lending (ABL) Pacific Rim Note: This position may be based in Chicago, Los Angeles or San Francisco The AVP, Portfolio Manager role will focus on underwriting in BMO's Asset Based Lending (ABL) Group. This will be inclusive of current and new customer calling and pitching. As AVP, PM, you will manage 7-10 customers, while also managing the underwriting of new borrowers and helping train other team members. Position is involved in decisioning and analysis of all types of credit information to support lending decisions for BMO. Oversees credit and legal documentation and ongoing monitoring of asset and client performance Provides accurate financial analysis and risk assessment of new and existing customers Oversees preparation of concise, well reasoned credit correspondence. Coordinates the preparation of lending proposals and pitches to prospective clients with efforts to maximize penetration and returns. Negotiates transactions with clients and provides deal structuring expertise. May manage work flow of other analysts by aligning tasks with departmental goals and objectives. Develops credit information to make lending decisions on new, renewal and extension loans. Assists in negotiations of terms and conditions of all decisions made via phone and e-mail interaction with clients. Prepares summary, present facts and offer opinions concerning credit worthiness. Establishes cross-selling initiatives to increase penetration with client. Applies knowledge in bank products, processes and systems and effectively trouble shooting to ensure a high-quality client experience. May coordinate closing with closing department, clients and attorneys. Minimizes BMO’s risk exposure by adhering to internal credit policies and procedures with respect to lending decisions. Provides specialized consulting, analytical and technical support. Exercises judgment to identify, diagnose, and solve problems within given rules. Works independently and regularly handles non-routine situations. Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed. Qualifications: Typically between 4 - 7 years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience helpful. Bilingual, English plus Mandarin and/or Korean required. Deep knowledge and technical proficiency gained through extensive education and business experience. Excellent communication skills, both written & verbal required. Salary: $88,800.00 - $165,600.00 Pay Type: Salaried The above represents BMO Financial Group’s pay range and type. Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.
