Staff Accountant

Under general supervision, this position is responsible for performing accurate and timely month-end closing, year-end closing, preparing account reconciliations & audit schedules and provides a variety of finance related duties to the Finance Department. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Maintains the general ledger and performs month-end closing activities, including account reconciliations, journal entries, and the preparation of financial statement schedules. Performs cash management functions, including monitoring cash balances, forecasting cash requirements, and reconciling bank and investment accounts. Manages accounts payable, intercompany transactions, fixed assets, prepaid expenses, and other balance sheet accounts to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. Assists with the preparation of financial reports, budgets, forecasts, and financial analyses to support management decision-making. Supports internal and external audits and prepares regulatory filings and reports, including CMS, Medical Loss Ratio (MLR), and other federal and state reporting requirements. Provides excellent services to internal and external customers Qualifications BS degree in Accounting or Finance preferred 1+ years of recent accounting experience, and/or 1+ years of accounts payable experience preferred Knowledge of GAAP accounting and auditing principles, accounting system applications, and inter-company transactions Strong account reconciliation and analytical skills required Be able to work independently, detailed oriented, and able to work flexible hours to meet deadlines Ability to prioritize & organize work within a fast‑paced environment Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and Access; 10‑key by touch Strong oral and written communication skills Bilingual in English and Chinese is a plus Physical Requirements Able to lift up to 30 pounds Use proper body mechanics when handling equipment Standing, walking and moving 50% of the day. Responsibilities include, following the guidelines and reporting suspected violations of any statute, regulations, agreements or guidelines applicable to all healthcare programs. Base Pay Scale Starting at $25.76 – $38.61 The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.
