Archaeologist On-Call Sacramento & Central Valley at ICF Sacramento, CA

Archaeologist On-Call Sacramento & Central Valley ICF is seeking On-Call (Temporary) Archaeologists based in the San Francisco Bay Area (but primary work in Sacramento, Central Valley and Northern CA). Job Description The On-Call/Temporary Archaeologist will assist senior archaeologists primarily in fieldwork, including survey, testing, evaluation, data recovery, and construction monitoring. Other duties may include laboratory analysis, background research, report preparation, and additional tasks as assigned. The role requires excellent field skills, the ability to identify pre-contract and historic-period artifacts, and to take detailed field notes. Travel up to 10 days may be involved, and work will occur outdoors under all weather conditions. What You Must Have Bachelor's degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, or a related field 2+ years of field experience in archaeological monitoring and survey Valid driver's license and successful Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check What We Would Like You To Have Field experience in Sacramento area counties Ability to communicate and coordinate effectively with ICF senior staff and construction personnel Knowledge and familiarity with computers and smart devices Background in pre-contact or historic-period archaeology Ability to conduct field visits at locations throughout Sacramento County, Central Valley and Northern CA Cross-training in paleontological monitoring Mission era experience or training Osteology experience or training Active 40-hour HAZWOPER training Pay Range $55,148.00 – $103,128.00 (Sacramento, CA) Equal Opportunity ICF is an equal opportunity employer.
