Make a meaningful impact by supporting K-8 students as a Special Education Teacher in a contract position beginning August 2026 and ending June 2027. Located near Akron, OH, this role is perfect for educators passionate about helping children with diverse learning needs reach their fullest potential. You’ll be an integral part of a dedicated team, fostering an inclusive and productive environment for students from kindergarten through eighth grade.
Desired Qualifications:
- Active Ohio K-12 Intervention Specialist (IS) License (required)
- Previous experience working with K-8 students is highly valued
- Strong classroom management and individualized instruction skills
- Genuine commitment to inclusive education and student advocacy
- Effective communication abilities with students, families, and colleagues
- Collaborative, adaptable approach to working in a dynamic educational setting
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs
- Modify curriculum and classroom activities to accommodate differing abilities
- Track student progress and adapt strategies for optimal learning outcomes
- Collaborate with general education teachers, aides, and support staff
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians, providing updates and recommendations
- Participate in professional development to stay current on best practices in special education
