PRN MRI Technologist

MRI TechnologistWith minimal supervision, initiates MRI diagnostic examinations according to departmental procedures and protocols.Essential functions include assisting in formulation and maintenance of records, identifying and screening patients, administering contrast materials, initiating delegated tasks based on demonstrated competence, maintaining and enhancing personal professional skills, operating scanner equipment, monitoring patient condition, and participating in improving standards of the department.Additional duties may include performing other duties and projects as required by management.Knowledge, skills, and abilities required include excellent written and verbal communication skills, the ability to work well with others, good organization and analytical skills, the ability to meet the public in a professional and friendly manner, working knowledge of computers, and the ability to use word processing and spreadsheets.Minimum qualifications for consideration include a graduate of an approved school of radiology technology, registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), advanced registration by the ARRT in Magnetic Resonance (MR) or ability to obtain certification, prior MRI technologist experience, and current CPR.Physical requirements include lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling objects, stooping, kneeling, and/or crouching daily, standing or walking more than 5 hours a day, running to respond to patient emergencies, visual acuity, audio acuity, and audio acuity to discern sounds made by various types of machinery or equipment that would indicate dangerous or improper operation.Environmental conditions include a general clinical environment with frequent exposure to chemicals, blood borne pathogens, and patient body fluids.
