What You'll Do

• Provide first assist support in adult cardiothoracic surgeries, including CABG, valve repairs, aortic surgeries, and complex reoperative procedures
• Assist in emergency surgeries such as dissections and ascending aortic repairs
• Support intraoperative procedures involving pacing wires, chest tube placements, and device support (Impella, ECMO, IABP)
• Collaborate with cardiac surgeons, intensivists, and OR staff to ensure high-quality patient outcomes
• Maintain accurate documentation within Epic EMR system
• Participate in preoperative patient preparation and postoperative care documentation

What You Need

Required:

• Missouri state license and BLS certification
• At least 2 years of independent OR first assist experience in adult cardiac surgery
• Experience with procedures such as CABG, valve surgeries, and ascending aortic repairs
• Ability to work night shifts and participate in rotating call schedule

Preferred:

• Certified RNFA (Registered Nurse First Assistant) certification

Join a respected academic facility in St. Louis, MO, supporting a team of 5 cardiac surgeons. The OR team performs approximately 517 pump cases annually, including a diverse range of complex adult cardiac procedures.
