What You'll Do :

• Assist with adult cardiothoracic surgical procedures, including coronary artery bypass grafting, valve repair/replacement, and aortic surgeries
• Support emergent and complex surgeries such as dissections, reoperations, and mechanical circulatory support procedures
• Operate equipment like Maquet EVH System and assist with chest tube and pacing wire placements
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient care
• Document procedures accurately using Epic EMR
• Maintain safety standards and proper sterile techniques

What You Need :

• MO state license and board certification
• BLS certification (required); RNFA designation preferred
• At least 2 years of independent adult cardiac surgery OR first assist experience
• Strong clinical skills and ability to work in a fast-paced surgical environment

About the Assignment :

This role supports a high-volume academic hospital performing approximately 517 cardiac cases annually. The cardiothoracic surgery team provides comprehensive care, including complex procedures like valve surgeries, ascending aortic repairs, and mechanical circulatory support. You will be integral in assisting during surgeries and providing post-operative support in a collaborative, patient-centered environment.
