Director of Semiconductor Business Readiness Center will design and launch a first‑of‑its‑kind Center, oversee staff, and lead creation of a strategic roadmap. Design and implement a holistic business readiness model covering access to contracting, financial counseling, certifications, digital presence, and back‑office improvements. Ensure smooth day‑to‑day operations, proactively source NY semiconductor ecosystem businesses, present at local and state‑wide events, and provide tactical guidance to drive program impact. Build high‑impact relationships with anchor companies (e.g., Micron), key suppliers, prime contractors, and community partners to convert relationships into tangible business opportunities for NYS enterprises. Lead a culturally competent, inclusive leadership approach responsive to economically disadvantaged individual‑owned businesses. Establish and oversee operational aspects of the Center, including staff management, performance metrics, and reporting to GO‑SEMI management. Develop and implement a comprehensive programming strategy aligning with GO‑SEMI's supply chain development goals. Deploy multi‑channel programming (asynchronous, in‑person, distant, on‑demand, live training, advisory services, seminars, roundtables, matchmaking, mentorship). Maintain curriculum development processes and monitor participant progress to enhance learning outcomes. Coordinate with GO‑SEMI Supply Chain Team and Green CHIPS program to bridge contracting opportunities and track readiness deliverables. Maintain a robust intake, triage, and referral CRM system connecting businesses to public and private sector resources (e.g., APEX Accelerators, SBDCs, CDFIs, MWBE Programs). Lead outreach and sourcing of NY small businesses, especially those owned by economically disadvantaged individuals or operating in distressed areas. Organize in‑person and online outreach events to connect businesses with contracting opportunities across the NYS semiconductor ecosystem. Prepare businesses to meet industry standards and coordinate access to specialized experts, tools, and coaching. Ensure businesses electronically receive Center updates and opportunity alerts. Develop and track KPIs on readiness and contract participation, meeting program goals. Participate in regular meetings with Green CHIPS participants to review readiness strategy and provide guidance. Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Education, Economic Development, Public Administration, or related field. Experience: 7+ years of progressive responsibility in economic development, small business support, supply chain development, workforce or business readiness initiatives, or closely related fields. Demonstrated success designing, launching, and scaling new programs or business centers, preferably within government, nonprofit, or industry settings. Experience working with under‑represented businesses in contracting or procurement contexts. Preferred experience supporting advanced manufacturing or semiconductor supply chain ecosystems. Familiarity with public funding programs (e.g., NYS MWBE, SBA, SSBCI, EDA). Experience developing KPIs or managing data‑driven program performance systems. Experience delivering technical assistance, one‑on‑one and group programming. Ability to supervise staff, manage cross‑functional teams, and coordinate complex stakeholder environments. Proficiency with CRM platforms (Salesforce, HubSpot) and data analytics tools. Knowledge of construction and/or manufacturing procurement processes, supplier qualification requirements, and industry standards. Strong project management, curriculum design, adult learning, facilitation, and communication skills. Fluency in Spanish or another local business language preferred but not required.
