Restaurant Manager — TERA MERA
Location: Cobble Hill, Brooklyn, NY**
Salary: $55,000–$65,000/year (depending on experience) + Year-End Performance Bonus + Staff Meals

TERA MERA is a successful, warm, intimate, family-run restaurant and wine bar inspired by the flavors of Bombay and the traditions of Sindhi home cooking. We're seeking an experienced, hands-on Restaurant Manager to lead daily floor operations and help shape our service culture as we continue to grow.

As an chef owner-operated restaurant, we value genuine hospitality, strong leadership, and a willingness to stay involved in every aspect of service. This is a great fit for someone who leads by example and loves guest interaction.

Responsibilities
- Lead and support front-of-house staff during dinner service
- Build and manage weekly staff schedules; control labor costs through strategic staffing
- Hire, train, motivate, and develop FOH staff; handle day-to-day coaching, accountability, and performance management
- Manage call-outs, shift changes, attendance, and staffing issues
- Own the guest experience: resolve concerns professionally, manage reservations, service flow, and large parties
- Oversee opening and closing procedures and daily reporting
- Administer daily tip pooling — accurate allocation, distribution, and reporting
- Review timekeeping and assist with payroll preparation
- Maintain health, safety, and sanitation standards
- Maintain standards for hospitality, cleanliness, organization, and presentation
- Maintain clear communication among FOH, BOH, and ownership
- Work with ownership on inventory, ordering, and vendor relationships
- Help implement restaurant policies and operating procedures
- Identify operational challenges and proactively develop solutions

Qualifications
- Minimum 2+ years of restaurant management or strong senior supervisory experience
- Excellent communication, leadership, and conflict-resolution skills
- Strong scheduling and organizational abilities
- Experience managing FOH teams and guest relations
- Knowledge of tip pooling, timekeeping, and basic restaurant payroll procedures
- Comfortable with POS and scheduling software
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills during service
- A collaborative, hands-on management style
- An appreciation for independent, owner-operated restaurants
- Available nights, weekends, and holidays (closed Monday/Tuesday)
- Experience with Square, ADP, and Resy is a plus

Compensation
- $55,000–$65,000 annually, depending on experience
- Year-end performance bonus
- Staff meals provided
