Job Opportunity – Physician Assistant (PA) – Thoracic Surgery

Schedule: 2-3 shifts per week; 12-hour night shifts (6:30 PM – 7:00 AM), Monday through Sunday rotation

Highlights:

• Inpatient thoracic surgery coverage in a hospital setting with Epic EMR system
• Average daily census of 15-25 patients per shift, primarily post-operative and step-down patients
• Work alongside a thoracic surgery fellow who provides backup support during busy nights
• 5-6 month maternity leave coverage assignment with potential for extension
• Manage chest tubes, Blake drains, pigtail catheters, ABGs, NGT, and G/J feeding tubes
• Code team available on-site with ACLS certification required

Requirements:

• Current NCCPA certification (Physician Assistant)
• Active state licensure (or eligible to obtain)
• ACLS and BLS certifications required
• DEA license required
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Physician Assistant
• Experience with thoracic surgery patients and related procedures preferred
• Credentialing timeframe: approximately 90 days
