Staff Accountant

Staff AccountantOur client, a well-established and growing manufacturing organization in Battle Creek, is seeking a Staff Accountant to join their accounting team. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with leadership, gain exposure to multiple areas of accounting and finance, and contribute to a company that continues to expand its operations.Staff Accountant Responsibilities:Prepare and review monthly journal entries and account reconciliationsAssist with month-end and year-end close processesAnalyze financial data and investigate account variancesReconcile balance sheet accounts and maintain supporting schedulesSupport budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting activitiesAssist with inventory accounting and manufacturing cost analysisParticipate in audits and provide requested documentationEnsure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and internal controlsCollaborate with operations and other departments to support business objectivesIdentify opportunities to improve accounting processes and efficienciesStaff Accountant Education & Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance2+ years of accounting experience, preferably within manufacturingStrong understanding of general ledger accounting and financial reportingExperience with account reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end closeProficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft ExcelStrong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
