Manager, Warehouse - 1st Shift

1135 Pleasant View Terrace, Ridgefield, NJ 07657, USA Warehouse Manager A Brief Overview The Warehouse Manager is responsible for leading and managing all Warehouse Operations ensuring efficient, cost-effective usage of resources. This role will improve the efficiency of warehouse shift daily operations, maintain quality and motivate a high-performance warehouse team. We seek a progressive leader with experience in manufacturing warehouse activities. What you will do Lead, supervise, and develop warehouse staff. Conduct performance reviews, provide training, and ensure all staff are meeting performance standards. Maintain a positive work environment. Provides adequate resources to ensure the warehouse operations including receiving, storage, and material handling functions can be carried out with optimal efficiency. Progressively pursue on time shipments with a goal of 100%. Establish and maintain key customer service level measurements, including loading time by customer, activity profiles by department and carrier performance issues. Maintain knowledge of and compliance with applicable government regulations. Implement and train personnel on proper safety, cGMPs, and shipping procedures/protocols. Maintain a clean and safe warehouse at all times. Maintain accurate inventory to meet customer demands by ensuring all warehouse related entries are entered into the system. Manage scrap and obsolete material destruction. Promote continuous improvement efforts in order to reduce the delay of orders and/or picking errors. Manage warehouse equipment and ensure proper maintenance to minimize downtime. Experience managing costs within budget. Must be proficient in MS Office applications, including Excel, Word and Outlook. Lean, 5S, JIT highly desired. Training in computer systems with emphasis on inventories, shipping and billing. AS400 and ERP system knowledge and experience is preferred. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Experience with chemicals, knowledge/certification of hazardous shipping, shipping and receiving methods. Acts decisively and functions effectively under stressful situations. Manages deadlines and competing priorities effectively. Must be willing and able to work hours necessary to achieve desired results. Experience in the manufacturing sector preferred. Participate in cross-functional meetings to align warehouse operations with business objectives. Manage month-end inventory closeouts. Ensure month-end balances are accurate. Complete investigations of customer or carrier complaints originated in the warehouse. Some duties may vary slightly by location. Education Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Business Administration, or related field (Preferred) or Degree in Supply Chain Management or related field (Preferred) Experience Qualifications 4-6 years proven experience leading and managing a warehouse team. (Required) 4-6 years in warehousing, transportation, primary trucking, distribution/order filling, and computer systems for storage, shipping, and billing. (Preferred) 4-6 years in warehouse management in the manufacturing industry. (Preferred) Skills and Abilities Ability to lead, develop, and motivate a diverse warehouse team to meet performance goals. (High proficiency) Knowledge of warehouse processes, inventory control, and logistics operations. (High proficiency) Understanding of inventory control practices, cycle counting, and stock management. (Medium proficiency) Knowledge of OSHA and other safety regulations, and the ability to maintain a safe working environment. (High proficiency) Problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot issues and implement effective solutions. (High proficiency) Experience implementing Lean principles or continuous improvement initiatives in a warehouse setting. (Medium proficiency) Ability to analyze warehouse performance metrics, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions. (Medium proficiency) Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and Microsoft Office tools. (Medium proficiency) Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment. (High proficiency) Verbal and written communication skills for effective team and cross-functional collaboration.
