SUMMARY

The Plant Manager is responsible for the overall leadership and performance of the Midland, TX facility, providing direction and accountability across the Production, Quality, and Warehouse departments. Working under the supervision of the Co-CEO, the Plant Manager ensures that plant operations run safely, efficiently, and in alignment with company quality, delivery, and cost objectives. This role serves as the on-site point of accountability for daily operations, unifying the efforts of the Production Manager, Quality Manager, and Warehouse & Logistics Manager into a single, coordinated plan, and acts as the primary escalation point when priorities across departments conflict.

RESPONSIBILITIES

PLANT LEADERSHIP

• Provide overall leadership, mentorship, direction, and accountability for the Production, Quality, and Warehouse departments at the Midland facility.
• Set plant-wide priorities and resolve conflicts between departments over scheduling, staffing, or resource allocation.
• Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for safety, quality, throughput, on-time delivery, and cost across all reporting departments.
• Conduct regular cross-departmental meetings to align production schedules, quality requirements, and material/inventory needs.
• Own the plant's operating budget, including labor, materials, and overhead costs, and hold department managers accountable to budget targets.
• Review and approve staffing plans, hiring, and disciplinary actions recommended by the Production Manager, Quality Manager, and Warehouse & Logistics Manager.
• Serve as the primary escalation point for unresolved production, quality, or inventory issues that require cross-departmental decisions.
• Communicate plant performance, risks, and improvement plans to the Co-CEO on a regular basis.
• Champion a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement throughout the facility.
• Lead or sponsor process improvement initiatives spanning production, quality, and warehouse operations.
• Ensure consistent, fair application of company policies and procedures across all plant departments.
• Drive cross-department collaboration to support plant objectives, including but not limited to Engineering, Procurement, Safety, Human Resources, Sales, and Service.
• Provide updates to clients and internal stakeholders on overall plant status, including production, quality, and shipping. This includes a production schedule
• Hold and lead team meetings regarding plant operations and production updates.

PRODUCTION OVERSIGHT (via Production Manager)

• Ensure production schedules meet daily, weekly, and monthly targets for the assembly and fabrication of sub-assemblies, parts, and units.
• Review production floor workflows and processes to support an efficient, lean operation.
• Partner with the Production Manager on workforce planning, equipment reliability, and resolution of production challenges.
• Ensure production activities are coordinated with Engineering, Procurement, Safety, and HR.
• Act as the final oversight in NetSuite regarding production/work order build-out.

QUALITY OVERSIGHT (via Quality Manager)

• Ensure the plant's quality management system (QMS) is implemented and maintained to meet internal and industry standards.
• Support the Quality Manager in enforcing quality assurance policies and resolving product defects and root-cause corrective actions.
• Ensure quality requirements are integrated into production planning and warehouse handling processes.
• Act as an escalation point for customer quality concerns, audits, and inquiries that require plant-level intervention.

WAREHOUSE OVERSIGHT (via Warehouse & Logistics Manager)

• Ensure accurate inventory management, receiving, and shipping processes are maintained across the facility.
• Collaborate with the Warehouse & Logistics Manager to ensure that facilities and equipment receive proper maintenance and preventative care.
• Coordinate with the Warehouse & Logistics Manager to align inventory levels and material availability with production schedules.
• Oversee warehouse safety, cleanliness, and organization standards.
• Support resolution of purchasing, inventory discrepancy, and logistics issues raised by the Warehouse & Logistics Manager.

SKILL REQUIREMENTS

• Exceptional communication skills (written, oral, and listening), with the ability to lead and align multiple department managers.

• Ability to manage competing priorities across production, quality, and warehouse functions.
• Working knowledge of quality assurance methodologies and standards (e.g., ISO 9001).
• Working knowledge of inventory management and warehouse operations.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents, blueprints, and specifications.
• Highly proficient computer skills, including MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Minimum of 7 years' experience in Plant Management, Operations Management, or a senior Production Management role.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience managing managers or leading multiple departments.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is preferred.
• Previous experience in the oil and gas industry is preferred.
• Experience with quality management systems/certifications is preferred
• Previous experience with process improvement methodologies is preferred.
