Tennis Instructor - Head Coach - Recreation and Parks

Position Summary Howard County Department of Recreation & Parks is hiring head tennis coaches for youth and adult tennis classes at various county parks. We are currently seeking a head coach for fall, spring and summer classes. Class Schedule Fall classes: September - November, weekdays 4pm-9pm; weekends 8am-6pm (hours vary). Spring classes: April – June, weekdays 4pm-9pm; weekends 8am-6pm. Summer class: June‑August, weekdays 4pm-9pm; weekends 8am-6pm. Responsibilities Instruct and coach tennis for youth and adult participants. Maintain a safe, courteous, and professional learning environment. Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff. Manage flexible evening and weekend schedules as required. Qualifications Minimum age 16 years. Reliable, mature, courteous, and professional demeanor. Knowledge and experience in playing and instructing tennis. Good communication skills; comfortable working with children. Ability to work flexible afternoon, evening, and weekend hours. Preferred: Tennis certification. Compensation Salary: $18–$32 per hour, depending on experience.
