Position Title and Location Palliative Care Physician (Assistant – Associate Professor) Location: Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, New Brunswick, NJ Job Overview The Rutgers Cancer Institute, in partnership with RWJ Barnabas Health, seeks an academically‑oriented palliative care physician at the Assistant to Associate Professor level. The physician will collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure delivery of palliative care to patients and families, participate in the education of staff, trainees, and the community, and hold an academic appointment in the Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. Key Responsibilities Provide palliative care services to patients and families in an inpatient or outpatient setting. Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate and deliver comprehensive care. Participate in teaching activities for medical students, residents, and trainees. Engage in community outreach and education related to palliative care. Contribute to academic scholarship and research initiatives within the department. Qualifications MD or DO degree. Board‑certified or board‑eligible in Hospice and Palliative Medicine. Fellowship training in Hospice and Palliative Medicine preferred. Strong commitment to teaching, research, and clinical excellence. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Salary and Benefits Full‑time position. Minimum salary $235,378 per year, subject to qualifications, experience, and departmental or grant funding.
