Department/Unit: HBD - NSR - Neurosurgery Work Shift: Day (United States of America) Salary Range: $54,690.00 - $82,035.00 ($27.00 – $39.44 per hour) Location: Neurosurgery Office – Albany, NY; main campus in Albany and Saratoga. Services area includes Latham, Clifton Park, Delmar, Saratoga, Valatie, and Catskill. Work schedule: Monday – Friday Our Neurosurgery outpatient practice located in Albany, NY is seeking an LPN with excellent attention to detail and clinical reasoning skills to join our dedicated team of healthcare providers. The Department of Neurosurgery comprises world‑class neurosurgeons providing increasingly diverse and complex surgical care to patients with a wide range of neurological conditions, ensuring that Albany Medical Center offers the most advanced neurosurgical services available in the region. Responsibilities Obtains and accurately records patient’s vital signs Documents components of patient’s history Communicates in an open and appropriate manner with patients, visitors and staff Participates in in‑office procedures under the direction and supervision of a licensed healthcare provider Performs diagnostic CLIA waived testing Performs venipuncture to obtain blood for lab testing Prescription call‑backs per scope of practice Preps patient’s chart for pertinent clinical information Maintains inventory of supplies, and keeps patient examination rooms stocked Adheres to AMC regulatory compliance issues Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent is required Current NYS Registration as a Licensed Practical Nurse Obtains and maintains certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) Previous experience in a patient care setting preferred Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from physicians, patients and their family members or other employees within the work setting Employee Benefits Excellent health care coverage with no copay at Albany Medical Center providers A wide array of services and programs to support emotional, physical, and mental wellbeing Albany Med Health System is an equal opportunity employer.
