Function: Provide those supportive services necessary for assisting the classroom teacher in his/her task of providing quality instruction to students. Reports to: Teachers(s), Principal to whom he/she is assigned and Director of Student Services Responsibilities: Perform those tasks assigned by the classroom teacher or the building Principal. Work with small groups of students, and/or individual student as assigned reinforcing teacher planned and directed activities. Perform those aide services necessary to help the teacher in his/her instructional lessons. Examples of aide services include, but may not be limited to: physically assisting a student on/off of the toilet and or with personal hygiene; transfer student into and out of wheelchair, electric wheelchair, stroller or any other transfer as needed; set-up and monitor student(s) while eating breakfast and or lunch; assist student as needed during adaptive physical education class. Perform related duties as assigned. The four elementary schools - Saylesville, Lonsdale, Central Lincoln, and Northern Lincoln - all four offer full day kindergarten. Northern Lincoln Elementary also offers a pre-school program.Lincoln also has one middle school and one high school. The total enrollment for Lincoln Public Schools (as of March 2023) remains steady at approximately 3,330 students.In August 2016, Lincoln High School was given a silver medal by US New & World Reports ranking of top high schools throughout the country. 1. Be of good character;
2. Have a high school diploma or general equivalency diploma;
3. Completion of a Teacher Assistant Pre-Employment Training Program approved by the RI Department of Education (RIDE). Three (3) exceptions to this particular qualification:

i.Those hired before January 1, 1999 ii.Those with certification as a TA in another state, iii.Those with an associates degree or bachelors degree AND who have completed coursework or other training consistent with the teacher assistant program standards. It is a district's decision whether coursework or other training is consistent with the teacher assistant program standards. 4.Meet one (1) of the following requirements: a.Successfully pass the ParaPro Assessment. OR b.Complete at least 2 years of study at an institution of higher education OR c.Obtain an associates or higher degree. The minimum qualifications listed above are required of all applicants for this position. Additional qualifications shall include but not be limited to the following: personal integrity; sense of humor, patience; ability to discern essentials; willingness to promote the general goals of the school district.
