Role Overview
This position involves providing operational supervision within a diagnostic laboratory, overseeing workflow, and ensuring high-quality, cost-effective services under the guidance of the director or manager.
Responsibilities
- Directly supervise 10 to 40 technical staff
- Hire, train, evaluate performance, and manage workflow
- Initiate promotions and transfers
- Ensure department expenditures align with budget
- Oversee daily activities and work schedules
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in laboratory science or medical technology
- Four years of experience in high-complexity testing
- Preferred: Medical Laboratory Science degree, MLS or specialty certification, supervisory experience
Physical & Environment Demands
- Ability to sit, stand, lift up to 25 lbs, and perform physical tasks
- Use of computer, phone, and office equipment
- Must have adequate color vision and visual acuity
- Potential for off-site travel
