Vault Teller - Hawesville, KY Regular Full-Time 5 Days Required Hawesville, KY, US Vault Teller *Position is not eligible for remote work. Job Summary A Teller undertakes bank transactions and interacts directly with customers. A Teller is usually the first person a customer sees when they walk into one of our locations. A Vault Teller is responsible for all cash and coin in a location’s vault. This position will be required to work into a Saturday rotation. Essential Functions, Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Greets all customers and visitors when they enter the location lobby or approach the drive-thru Orders currency and coins for location Counts and records money received and sent for shipment from Federal Reserve and other Bank locations Balances vault currency and coin daily Processes daily transactions including receiving deposits, cashing checks, accepting loan payments, and disbursing cash Cashes checks and payout money after verifying that signatures are correct, that written and numerical amounts agree, and that accounts have sufficient funds Explains, promotes, and sells specialized products such as cashier’s checks and prepaid gift cards Performs services for customers including ordering bank cards and checks Records all transactions promptly, accurately, and in accordance with bank procedures Performs as a team member in allocating and coordinating the workflow Answers inquiries regarding checking and savings accounts and other bank related products Assists customers in solving account errors or problems, providing account balances, etc. Balances currency, cash and checks in cash drawer daily; arrange monies according to denomination Promotes and maintains positive relations with all contacts, customers, and potential customers Assists with training for Tellers and Customer Service Representatives Assists the Teller Supervisor with answering questions regarding bank policies and procedures Opens, closes, and maintains customer accounts, including checking, savings, CDs, and IRAs May be responsible for bank openings and/or closings May be required to work drive-thru Education, Experience and Qualifications Education Required/Preferred Description Required High School or GED Years of Experience Minimum Comments 2 Two (2) years of teller experience required; customer service experience preferred License / Certification Required/Preferred License / Certification Required Independence Bank Teller Certification within 6 months Required Independence Bank Vault/Lead Teller Certification within 6 months Additional Qualifications Requires completion of Teller Fundamentals and Teller Level Up training within three (3) months Core Competencies Customer/client orientation Problem-solving skills Accuracy and attention to detail Situational judgment skills Ability to maintain confidential information Clerical and administrative skills Working Conditions Working Conditions Indoors, environmentally controlled.
