Substation SuperintendentBeaumont, Texas - Posted on September 9, 2026 Published By Taylor SorensenTrillium Construction is hiring for a direct-hire Substation Superintendent to oversee the construction, maintenance, and repair of electrical substations out of Beaumont, TX!This is a field leadership role responsible for directing crews and ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, and in accordance with electrical codes, utility specifications, and project requirements.The ideal candidate will have strong high-voltage substation experience, including Greenfield and Brownfield projects, along with proven leadership experience managing electrical crews and field operations.Salary: $100,000–$140,000, depending on experienceWhat You'll DoSupervision & LeadershipSupervise foremen, journeyman/apprentice electricians, and crew members on substation construction or maintenance projectsAssign daily tasks, manage crew schedules, and coordinate multiple crews across one or more job sitesTrain, mentor, and evaluate field personnelEnforce discipline, performance standards, and company expectationsProject & Technical OversightOversee installation, testing, and commissioning of substation equipment, including transformers, breakers, switchgear, bus work, and control systemsRead and interpret electrical drawings, one-line diagrams, blueprints, schematics, and construction specificationsCoordinate with engineers, project managers, and utility/client representatives on project executionTrack project progress against schedule and budget and report status to project managementOversee both Greenfield and Brownfield substation projectsSafetyEnforce all safety policies and procedures, including lockout/tagout, arc-flash protection, and PPE complianceConduct or oversee job briefings, safety meetings, and site inspectionsInvestigate incidents and near-misses and implement corrective actionsMaintain a strong zero-incident safety culture on siteMaterials & EquipmentCoordinate material deliveries, equipment needs, and tool/vehicle maintenanceManage inventory and minimize waste or downtime caused by material or equipment shortagesAdministrativeComplete daily reports, timesheets, safety documentation, and quality control recordsParticipate in pre-job planning and post-job reviewsCommunicate project updates, field conditions, and potential issues to project managementWhat You'll BringExperience5–10+ years of experience in high-voltage substation construction and/or maintenancePrior experience as a Foreman, Lead, or Superintendent in substation constructionDemonstrated experience working with substation equipment up to 500kVExperience with both Greenfield and Brownfield substation projects preferredSkills & KnowledgeStrong knowledge of electrical theory, substation equipment, and testing proceduresAbility to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, one-line diagrams, and electrical drawingsStrong leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skillsProficiency with scheduling and reporting tools/softwareAbility to coordinate crews, materials, equipment, and project activities in a fast-paced field environmentCertificationsOSHA 10 or OSHA 30Relevant electrical or journeyman certificationTrillium Construction Services has been recruiting and hiring construction and skilled trades talent for over 30 years.
