RONDOUT VALLEY CENTRAL SCHOOL DISTRICT is seeking an Assistant Principal at Rondout Valley High School. Qualifications: New York State Certification, SBL or SAS and SED Fingerprint Clearance Salary: Per Contract General Responsibilities: The Assistant Principal assists the Principal with the organization, administration and supervision of all activities connected with the school. The successful candidate will: Work as an active member of the leadership team tofoster a culture of growth, collaboration, and a focus on student engagement in learning. Possessknowledgeof current research-based practices and programs for teaching, learning, student support, assessment, and data analysisas well as current NYS learning standards. Conduct classroomobservations andprovide actionable feedback that supportsimprovement in instructional practices. Utilizestudentachievementand behavioral data to guide decision-making and schoolimprovementdecisions. Foster an inclusive school culture where all students feel safe, supported, andvalued. Build relationships withteachers, counselors, support staff,community partners,and families to support student academic, behavioral, social, and emotional growth. Help coordinate school operations, safety planning, emergency response, and student discipline. Collaborate with staff and leadership team to reduce chronic absenteeism. Plan and implement professional learning opportunities to support continuous schoolimprovement. Effectively use educational technology and data systems to improve teaching, learning, and educational effectiveness. Communicate effectively with administrators, faculty, support staff, families, and students. Receives, reviews, and responds to complaints or problems concerning individual pupils, staff, or the operation of the school. Supervises extracurricular events such as concerts, awards assemblies, open houses, parent teacher conferences, drama productions, dances, sporting events, etc. Encourages parental involvement in students' education and ensures effective communication with students and parents. Performs such additionalduties as may be assigned by the Principal or Superintendent of Schools.
