Housekeeping Houseperson (Full-Time) | InterContinental Miami Downtown

Responsibilities Responsible for the cleanliness and organization of floor closets, removing garbage from the service elevator landing, wiping down shelves/counters, sweeping and mopping, and storing non‑floor closet items in appropriate areas by the end of the shift. Assist room attendants with heavy items such as mattresses and linen and deliver linen and other supplies to room attendants. Remove all dirty linen from assigned Room Attendants’ carts and closets and transport to the laundry chute. Throw any recycled items down the recycle chute (except glasses and boxes). Maintain the cleanliness and condition of own sections/floors. Shampoo carpet in guestrooms and designated hallways/floors. Respond to guest requests such as delivery of housekeeping supplies (e.g., linens, cots, etc.) in a timely and efficient manner. Clean public areas in the prescribed manner while following department standard operating procedures. Report to the office coordinator any needed repairs or unsafe conditions. Respond to guest complaints and ensure corrective action is taken to achieve complete guest satisfaction. Monitor and control supplies/amenities and minimize waste within all areas of housekeeping. Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other departments. May regularly assist with deep‑cleaning projects. May assist with other duties as assigned. Qualifications & Requirements Basic reading, writing, and math skills. Some housekeeping experience and the ability to speak English preferred. Physical Demands and Other Requirements Carry or lift items weighing up to 75 pounds and push or pull items up to 300 pounds. Frequently stand up and move about the facility. Frequently handle objects and equipment to maintain the facility. Frequently bend, stoop, and kneel. Communicate with guests and employees a significant amount of time. Read and write assignments and complete checklists often. May be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays. Work Area Housekeeping areas, guest corridors, and service elevators. Compensation and Benefits The hourly pay rate for this role is $17.25.
