Be one of the first to apply — offer rates tend to be higher at this stage Description American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position requiring 2 years of critical care experience and a CO or compact RN license. Details Med-surg PCU with a mixed patient population including cardiac, minor trauma, respiratory, and mildly unstable hemodynamic patients All rooms are negative pressure capable and equipped with ceiling lifts Night shift, 3x12 hours (19:00-7:00) Weekend shifts required per unit needs Floating to sister units within the region may be required, with advance notice given No on‑call responsibilities Epic charting system experience preferred Requirements Active RN license (CO or Compact) currently in hand Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS Minimum 2 years of critical care experience required First‑time travelers considered if they have approximately 2 years of PCU/ICU experience Skilled in respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tubes, HFNC, ABG interpretation, and tracheostomy care Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, and blood product administration Experience managing cardiac and vasoactive drips, heparin protocols, and PCA Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and telemetry Experience with wound care/wound vac and isolation precautions/PPE Feeding tube care and CVA management experience Additional Information Provide nursing care for PCU/DOU/IMC/stepdown level patients requiring cardiac, respiratory, and neurological monitoring Utilize rapid response/code teams as needed for emergency response Complete all facility‑specific modules within the first week of assignment Maximum of 10 RTO days approved per 13‑week contract, with blackout periods during select weeks Candidates previously employed by the health system or its affiliates must disclose this information Local candidates residing within 75 miles of the facility are accepted at the local rate First‑time travelers are welcome to apply with relevant experience These details are based on information provided by the facility and may include inaccuracies or be subject to updates.
