Responsibilities of an E-commerce Architect

• The e-commerce architect responsibilities include designing and implementing the e-commerce application projects. The e-commerce architect is a person who leads and develops the prototype e-commerce applications. They generally carry out a detailed study of the client requirements and carry out all the essential requirements for the same. He or she is responsible for undertaking a detailed research of the client requirements along with considering the user requirements. The e-commerce architect then plans and designs the e-commerce application according to the researches made and sees to it that the application satisfies the client requirements.

Educational Qualification of an E-commerce Architect

• The minimum qualification required for an e-commerce architect is a bachelor's degree in computer science or any other related field.
• Minimum experience of eight years in enterprise architecture, system integration, e-commerce architecture, and custom and package implementation. The candidate must also possess adequate knowledge about various web technologies such as HTML, J2EE, JSP/ Servlets/ Filters, JDBC, RMI, SQL, Apache/ Tomcat, etc.

Job Responsibilities of an E-commerce Architect

• The major job responsibility of an e-commerce architect is to handle the overall process of designing and implementing the e-commerce application. The other major job duties undertaken by an e-commerce architect are as follows:
• Prepare the long term e-commerce strategic plans and implement them in the e-commerce architecture
• Prepare the standards and guidelines for technical designing based on various business goals and specific inputs from the clients
• Undertake the development, maintenance, and governance of the e-commerce architecture
• Recommend necessary changes in the existing e-commerce application and work for its efficient functioning, revenue generation, and cost savings
• Coordinate with the web developers, e-commerce marketing team, and e-commerce analysts for the effective completion and working of the e-commerce application
• Supervise the e-commerce team and see to it that the given tasks are completed according to the architecture designed
