Job Title

Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Room

Location

Newburgh, NY | Emergency Department – Level III Trauma Center

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Night Shifts | 12-Hour Shifts | Onsite | Weekend and Holiday availability required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a high-volume Emergency Department with a 30-bed unit, including designated trauma bays
• Manage elevated patient ratios in a fast-paced environment — candidates must be able to handle ratios up to 1:9
• Perform cardiac rhythm recognition and respond appropriately to dysrhythmias, including identifying rhythms and initiating treatment or intervention
• Administer medications safely across adult and pediatric populations in accordance with facility protocols
• Complete unit-specific competency exams upon orientation, including a Medication Administration Test and a Basic Dysrhythmia Recognition Exam, with a minimum passing score of 80%
• Adhere to facility dress code requirements (dark blue or white scrubs)

Required Qualifications

• Active New York State RN License
• ACLS certification (required)
• BLS certification (required)
• PALS certification (required)
• Current COVID vaccination/compliance documentation as required
• Availability for weekend and holiday shifts

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Room nursing experience preferred
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in high-acuity, high-volume trauma settings
• Experience with both adult and pediatric patient populations
