Legal Assistant/Secretary

Krahl Goerke Meyer & Behenna in downtown Oklahoma City is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated legal assistant/secretary to support one (1) attorney in criminal defense and general civil litigation practice.This candidate will work primarily with one attorney, but will also provide back up for the other attorneys and paralegal in the office. The firm currently has five (5) attorneys and one (1) paralegal. Key Responsibilities Organize and maintain files in hard copy where requested and electronically Prepare, proofread, and file documents in Oklahoma federal and state courts, including ECF filings Prepare and proofread correspondence, memos to file, etc. as directed by the attorney (transcription experience is a plus) Monitor deadlines, hearings, and docketing and maintain attorney calendars Assist with discovery organization and document review Manage case materials for hearings, trials, and appeals Communicate professionally with clients, courts, and opposing counsel via phone, email, and mail Perform cite-checks and prepare indices, tables, and appendices for briefs Coordinate with vendors, such as court reporters, investigators, and process servers Provide administrative and case-management support, including accurate timekeeping and billing entries using Tabs3 Billing software and the CJA eVoucher system Qualifications Attention to detail and strong proofreading skills Experience with Oklahoma federal and state court filings, including ECF filing Experience with eVoucher CJA billing system a plus Strong computer and technical skills (with knowledge of Apple products a plus) Transcription experience is a plus We prefer candidates with an Associate’s degree in paralegal studies and/or NALA Certification, and 1+ years of experience.We encourage applications from individuals with diverse backgrounds and experiences.
