Research Assistant Professor

Position Overview This is a 12-month non-tenure track research faculty appointment in the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences, College of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences. Key Responsibilities Establish and maintain a research program through interdisciplinary collaborations leading to grant writing and publications. Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in family and consumer sciences, especially gerontology. Participate in curriculum development. Engage in accreditation procedures, program coordination, and program assessment. Serve on department, college, and university committees and participate in other research and academic functions. Minimum Qualifications Ph.D. in Gerontology or a related discipline from an accredited university. Specialization in social gerontology or sociological perspectives on the life course. A record of research excellence demonstrated by peer-reviewed publications, a strong record of grant writing, and significant scholarship (extramural funding). Preferred Qualifications Demonstrated ability to teach graduate and undergraduate courses related to gerontology and family and consumer sciences core courses. Effective oral and written communication skills. Effective interpersonal skills. Experience advising and mentoring students. Strong technology skills.
