Job Title: Interventional Technologist I Profession: Interventional Technologist Specialty: - Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 10 Experience: Entry-level; suitable for those gaining experience in Interventional Radiology or Invasive Cardiology. License: ARRT (RT) required within 18 months of hire. Certifications: BLS and ACLS required upon hire. Must-Have: - Demonstrates knowledge and skills in medical imaging principles. - Applies understanding of anatomy and physiology related to imaging procedures. - Consistent application of sterile fields to ensure patient safety. - Strong verbal and written communication skills. - Knowledge of and ability to apply HIPAA guidelines. - Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and remain calm in stressful situations. - Dependable attendance and punctuality. - Sensitivity to patients' physical and psychological needs. - Accuracy in maintaining records. Description: The Interventional Technologist I assists Physicians with minimally invasive, image-guided procedures. These procedures are used to diagnose, monitor, and treat various conditions without surgery. This position is designed for individuals gaining experience in interventional imaging or experienced professionals transitioning to this discipline. Responsibilities include assisting Providers during various minimally invasive procedures such as cardiac catheterization and angiography. Utilization of specialized radiologic equipment and techniques in accordance with established guidelines is essential. Ensuring the safety and quality of procedures with a patient-centric approach is required. Preparation and comfort for patients before procedures is part of the role. Acting as a scrub tech during procedures while maintaining a sterile field is necessary. Responding to inquiries from patients and family members and providing clear information is expected. Collaboration with team members to deliver exceptional patient care is essential. Conducting post-testing quality reviews to ensure compliance with standards is part of the responsibilities. Transferring images and data to the appropriate electronic health system is required. Performing equipment maintenance tasks per regulatory guidelines is necessary. Assisting with quality assurance and performance improvement tasks is expected. Providing on-call clinical coverage as assigned outside regularly scheduled hours may be required. Participation in teaching and mentoring new or less experienced team members may occur. Other duties as assigned may include supporting departmental goals.
