Position Type:Full time, salary position open in our friendly Integrative Medical Facility of Counselors, Psychologist, Psychiatrist, Physician Assistant and Recovery Professionals.
Who we are:Wisdom Traditions Counseling Services provides Alaska State certified and CARF nationally accredited outpatient programs. Providing both live onsite and tele-health services. Our integrated approach to patient care includes the treatment of behavioral health, addiction, and care coordination for primary care medical and medication management.
Who we are looking for:We are growing and have a new opening for an experienced Licensed Assessment Counselor (LPC, LMFT, LCSW) who desires to work in an integrative, trauma sensitive, and holistically oriented program. As a fully accredited facility, this position is responsible for maintaining all standards set forth by the State of Alaska DBH and CARF International.
Essential Job Function:The Licensed Assessment Counselor manages the daily diagnostic assessments that are scheduled for clinical services, which include placement into ASAM Level 2.5 (Partial Hospitalization- PHP) and ASAM Level 2.1 (Intensive Outpatient- IOP) and ASAM Level 1 programming. They report to the Clinical Director and consult with the Medical Director to confirm appropriate placements and assign a directing clinician for each patient admitted to our ASAM programming services. Additionally, this individual will be assigned a specific caseload for specialized continuing care groups, which includes individualized counseling and a weekly therapeutic ASAM Level 1 continuing care group. This caseload assignment also involves management of monthly status reporting.
Must be able to work both independently and within a supportive team of professionals and contribute as a member of a vibrant inter-disciplinary team. Looking for a strong and collaborative team-player that is enthusiastic about mental health and addiction recovery. Strong verbal and written communication abilities are a must.
The prime candidate will have experience working with mental health, dual-diagnoses, and substance use disorder populations.
Job Functions Include but are not limited to:
Coordinate daily scheduled clinical diagnostic assessments for both Substance Use Disorder and Mental Health patients.
Understand and prioritize diagnoses with appropriate level of care placement.
Understand and develop initial treatment plans for each person that receives an assessment.
Understand and utilize Electronic Records system, Outlook O365, telephone systems, and other technology for communication and patient record keeping.
Coordinate and align clinical programming and other service recommendations for discussion and review from Clinical and Medical Directors, which includes documenting the assigned directing clinicians.
Understand and utilize the appropriate CPT codes for each patients assessment services
Understand comprehensive knowledge of ASAM and maintain curriculum for the ASAM Level 1 therapeutic continuing care group.
Utilize Motivational Interviewing strategies to present assessment findings and facilitate patient acceptance of treatment recommendations.
Assess treatment/recovery progress and, in consultation with the patient, make appropriate changes to the treatment plan to ensure progress toward treatment objectives
Perform the actions necessary to facilitate a group, including use of tele-health platforms.
Work closely with admin and case managers to provide the required documentation to facilitate new patient admission to treatment.
Apply confidentiality-related legal restrictions appropriately.
Maintain compliance with HIPPA and 42CFR part 2 and any other state or federal laws protecting confidential information.
Requirements:
Masters degree or higher in mental health and/or substance use professions
Holds LPC/LMFT/LCSW license (or other relevant credentials) and ability to supervise non-licensed clinicians working toward LPC/LMFT/LCSW
Three (3) years experience independent counseling in addictions, family therapy, social services, or mental health and supports the mission of holistic health services.
Preferred Qualifications:
Certification as a Chemical Dependency Counselor (CDC) I or Behavioral Health Counselor (BHC) I or higher by Alaska Commission for Behavioral Health Certification (ACBHC), or certification by another certifying body, such as a state certifying affiliate of NAADAC - the Association for Addiction Professionals - or other similar recognized organizations; experience judged as meeting certification requirements may be accepted provided the applicant be certified within six months of hire
