Job Description The Underground Electrician aims to repair and maintain associated surface fixed equipment and underground infrastructure equipment. 1 . DailyTasks Install, maintain, inspect, and repair underground electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, communication, and controlsystems Troubleshoot electrical faults on fixed plant and mobile miningequipment Perform preventative maintenance and inspections to minimize downtime and improve reliability Read and interpret electrical schematics, drawings, andmanuals Install and maintain substations, switchgear, transformers, VFDs, and motor controlsystems 2 . Safety Safely work on low, medium, and high-voltage systems in accordance with site procedures and legislation Conduct lockout/tagout (LOTO), grounding, and testingprocedures Identify electrical hazards and participate in risk assessments and job hazard analyses (JHAs) Accurately complete work orders, inspection reports, and maintenance records Respond to breakdowns and emergency repairs asrequired Follow all MSHA/OSHA regulations, site safety policies, and electricalcodes Maintain astrong focus on personal safety, coworker safety, and equipmentprotection 3 . Teamwork Work closely with maintenance, operations, and engineering teams to support productiongoals Participate in safety meetings, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives Qualifications On-the-job experience and vocationaltraining Must adhere to the OceanaGold Code ofConduct Minimum 10 years of experience as an electrician, preferably in underground mining or heavy industrial environments Strong knowledge of underground mining electrical systems and regulations Experience with medium-voltage systems, PLCs, VFDs, and mining mobile equipmentpreferred Ability to work in confined spaces and physically demanding underground conditions Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Electrical diagnostics and faultfinding Ability to work independently and as part of ateam Strong communication and documentation skills Mechanical aptitude and attention todetail Commitment to safety, reliability, and continuous improvement Knowledge &Core Functional Competencies: CPR, AED, and Live Voltage Rescue ( 2 hours) Low Voltage Worker Training ( 8 hours) High Voltage Worker Training ( 8 hours) – required for electricians working on systems greater than 1 , 000 volts Low Voltage Induction ( 3 hours) High Voltage Induction ( 3 hours) – required for electricians working on systems greater than 1 , 000 volts NEC Awareness Online Training ( 10 hours) HGM Authorized IsolatorTraining Hiring Requirement: These certifications are not required at the time ofhire. Employment Requirement: Successful completion of all applicable training and certifications is required to maintain employment in the Electrician position. The employer will provide and fund all required training and certification programs. Physical Requirements: Ability to work in both office and operational mining environments. Ability to regularly access active mining and processing areas to support operational teams, conduct site visits, investigations, coaching, and workforce engagementactivities. Ability to walk on uneven terrain, climb stairs and access elevated work areas asrequired. Ability to wear and use mandatory personal protective equipment (PPE).
