Valet Attendant ($13.50-$15.50/hr + tips) - Hotel Viking

Job Details Compensation: Hourly base pay $13.50 per hour ($2 differential for shifts after 3pm) plus tips. Work Schedule: Open availability. Summary The Guest Experience Associate is responsible for providing exceptional hospitality services to guests in an attentive, friendly and efficient manner. Duties include parking and retrieving guest vehicles promptly and safely, assisting guests with luggage, delivery and pickup of luggage during arrival and departure. Essential Functions (100%) Maintains professional demeanor, greets guests within five feet, uses guests' last names, salutation of the day, welcomes guests, practices proper phone etiquette. – 25% Parks and retrieves vehicles while driving slowly and cautiously. Opens all vehicle and hotel doors for guests. – 25% Assists with bell services and luggage storage, conducts thorough room presentations for guests, assists with room changes. – 20% Assists guests with directions, taxis, reservations, inquiries; provides info about outlets, meeting rooms, amenities, main attractions. Delivers messages, items, guest amenities; shuttles guests to approved locations. – 10% Explains parking rates and retrieval procedures; issues claim checks; collects check and manages ticket info. Calculates and collects revenue for vehicles when needed. – 20% Qualifications Age: Minimum 18 years. Education: High school diploma or GED. Required Licensure: Must hold a valid driver’s license for the state of employment. Experience: One (1) month related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge: Principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. Skills: Standard English reading/writing; comprehension of simple instructions; ability to write simple correspondence; present information in one‑on‑one and small group settings; arithmetic skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division with monetary units); understanding of 24‑hour and military time; understanding rates for time; manual transmission operation desirable; parallel parking. Physical Requirements: Must talk/hear; sit, stand, run, walk, handle, reach, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl; lift up to 100 pounds occasionally, 50 pounds frequently, 20 pounds constantly. Works primarily outdoors; exposed to extreme heat and cold; occasional travel up to 5%. Scope Authority to Act: Job is routine; follows established practices; decisions within operational instructions and departmental guidelines; mistakes could affect department operation.
