Valet Attendant ($13.50-$15.50/hr + tips) - Newport Marriott

Summary The Guest Experience Associate is responsible for providing exceptional hospitality services to guests in an attentive, friendly and efficient manner. Compensation $13.50 per hour plus tips; $2 differential for shifts after 3pm. Work Schedule Open availability. Benefits Medical, dental, and vision insurance. Responsibilities Maintain pleasant, friendly, professional demeanor with guests, co‑workers, and clients. Acknowledge and greet guests within five feet with a professional and friendly demeanor. Use guests’ last names and salutations of the day and welcome guests. Practice proper phone etiquette. Park and retrieve vehicles safely; open vehicle and hotel doors for guests. Assist guests with bell services and luggage storage as needed; conduct thorough room presentations; assist with room changes as necessary. Provide directions, taxis, reservations and other inquiries; inform guests about outlets, meeting rooms, amenities, and local attractions. Explain parking rates and retrieval procedures; issue claim checks after receiving keys; collect claim checks before issuing keys; maintain ticket information including key tag, folio, location, damage survey and claim check receipt; obtain key tags after parking; calculate and collect revenue for vehicles as needed. Qualifications Minimum age 18 years. High school diploma or GED. At least 1 month related experience or equivalent education and experience. Valid driver’s license for the state of employment. Knowledge of customer service principles and personal services. Ability to read/write standard English; comprehend simple instructions; write simple correspondence; present information one‑to‑one and small group; perform basic arithmetic with 100s, 10s, and American money; understand 24‑hour time and military system; understand rates; operate manual transmission; perform parallel parking.
