Senior Tax Manager (Private Client) Location: Remote Role type: Full-time, direct hire Pay: $130,000 to $200,000 base salary, based on experience About the company An established, growing CPA and advisory firm with multiple offices across Chicagoland. The firm serves businesses and individuals across assurance, tax, private client services, and advisory. It looks for curious, driven, client-focused people and invests in their growth into leadership. Position summary This role leads tax engagements for high-net-worth individuals, families, trusts, and estates. You'll be a primary point of contact for clients, bringing proactive planning ideas, not just compliance. You'll work directly with partners and senior managers and help develop junior staff. What you'll do Lead private client engagements and balance competing deadlines Review complex individual, gift, estate, and trust income tax returns Advise high-net-worth clients on tax planning and solutions Serve as a primary client contact and build long-term relationships Use technology to automate internal and client processes Mentor and develop junior team members What you bring Active CPA license 5+ years of public accounting tax experience (7+ preferred) Expertise in individual, gift, estate, and trust income tax compliance Experience advising clients and explaining technical issues clearly Strong engagement, team leadership, and communication skills Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field Nice to haves 1+ year in a senior manager role Experience improving processes with tax technology Benefits: Medical, dental, vision, and disability coverage; open PTO; 3% annual safe harbor retirement contribution (after one year, immediately vested); 12 weeks paid maternity leave and paid paternity leave.
