Purchasing AssistantThe Purchasing Assistant compiles and maintains information and records to prepare purchase orders. Edits purchase requests and prepares purchase orders. Consults catalogs and other references to obtain prices and specifications and maintains files and records of materials, prices, inventories and deliveries.Key Accountabilities:Obtains and verifies vendor acknowledgementsResponds to sales with purchase order updates, date changes or delaysProactively assists with purchase order updates – costs and delivery datesReconciles unbalanced invoices, working with buyers as needed.Works closely with receiving department to provide paperwork as neededEstablishes relationships with vendor inside sales contactsAssists with consignment management and system updatesLocates and verify inventory discrepanciesReviews and assist with receiving related issues (i.e. reclassify material)Assists quality in activities related to creditsCommunicates effectively with suppliers and qualityMeets TKMNA Employee Attributes / CompetenciesThe above is intended to describe the general content of and requirement for the performance of this job.
