Head of Business Development
PHOS Creative
PHOS Creative is an award-winning strategic agency that focuses on four core competencies: strategic consulting, branding, web design and development, and digital marketing. A strategy-first digital marketing agency headquartered in Florida, PHOS employs 24 team members and serves clients in 21 states. The growth, work, and culture of the agency have been highlighted in the Inc. 5000, Gator100, the American Advertising Federation, and Florida Trend’s Best Companies To Work For. We serve organizations across four primary sectors: non-profit, B2B healthcare, home services, and education. Our Mission | Our Daily Passion To cultivate true flourishing in people and organizations while reflecting the love of Jesus to the world. Our Vision | Our Hoped-For Future Our ten-year target is to launch one hundred care centers across the world that don’t exist right now by 2030. Position Overview The Head of Business Development is one of PHOS’ most prominent faces. They will talk with more people, network with more professionals, and interface with more prospects than almost any other person at PHOS. As a result, this role is arguably one of the biggest mission ambassador roles on our team, pushing our ministry further and faster in the marketplace. Within PHOS’ sales processes, there are three distinct sales-related roles: Hunter-Gatherer (Lead Sourcer) The hunter-gatherer is responsible for sourcing new opportunities, prospects, and accounts. They can quickly build rapport with prospects, but they are also keenly interested in fertilizing and watering long-term relationships. They have a deep understanding of our target audience and buyer personas and know how to engage them with a compelling offer at the start of their buying journey. Strategist (Engagement Plan Creator) The strategist is responsible for identifying the needs of each client, their goals, challenges, and opportunities. They are gifted at crafting custom plans for each client that align an intentional growth plan with a clear deliverable set. They work to drive value to both the client’s and PHOS’ bottom line. Administrator (Concierge and Closer) The administrator is responsible for getting the contract signed and seeing the client successfully transitioned into production. They monitor the details, schedule meetings, set next steps, facilitate contractual modifications, and provide detailed meeting follow-ups. While PHOS’ Head of Business Development is eager to serve PHOS’ sales needs in whatever capacity is most necessary, they are intensely focused on the hunter-gatherer role. Their primary objective is to create the opportunities necessary to meet and exceed PHOS’ monthly, quarterly, and annual sales goals. PHOS’ mantra “no margin, no mission” drives them to develop a sustainable multi-channel outreach strategy to engage buyers at the top of the funnel. Driven by a desire to deliver the most value for customers, they study our best clients, relentlessly pursuing a deep understanding of our ideal client so they can find more like-minded organizations who can genuinely benefit from PHOS’ services. They avoid even a hint of manipulative or coercive sales practices that erode trust in our company and our industry. Instead, they see customers as more than buyers, but as partners and co-designers of our services, actively engaging their insights to shape impactful and innovative offerings. “We must build bridges of trust that can bear the weight of truth.” Dr. Tim Elmore In as much as they are hunters, they are also farmers. They understand the need to build trust and that building trust takes time. They are invested in the long haul, staying connected to prospects and building into deep relationships. Working with our operations teams, the Head of Business Development is dedicated to finding clients that can reliably and profitably deliver missional impact for PHOS and its clients. They are committed to ensuring we deliver products that consistently exceed customer expectations in quality and trustworthiness, making trust a cornerstone of our value proposition. Our primary role in selling is to serve. Key Performance Indicators Some of the main key performance indicators (KPIs) that drive the work of the Head of Business Development include: Lead Nurturing Activities Response Rate Data Accuracy and CRM Updates Number of Leads Generated Contact-to-Meeting Conversion Rate Customer Lifetime Value Expectations of the Head of Business Development Prospecting, Lead Generation, Outreach, and Engagement Identify and research potential clients through various channels. Leverage social media platforms to identify potential clients, engage with leads, share relevant content, and build a strong online presence for business development. Attend conferences, events, and other networking opportunities to generate new leads and expand business development efforts. Initiate contact with potential clients via phone calls, emails, in-person meals, and social media to introduce our services and value propositions. Embody a ministry mindset, actively engaging with people in our pipeline in a manner that reflects our values and mission, and building relationships that go beyond business transactions, focusing on serving others and fostering a positive impact in every interaction. Qualifying Leads Engage with leads to determine client fit and alignment with PHOS’ core competencies, statement of faith, and PHOS’ core values. Conduct initial conversations to understand potential clients’ needs, pain points, and fit with our solutions, ensuring high-quality leads for the sales team. Relationship Building Cultivate strong relationships with prospective clients, providing them with relevant information, educational material, and case studies while maintaining consistent follow-ups. Ensure that every client experiences PHOS’ “white glove” touch from the moment they first engage with PHOS to the moment they are transitioned to operations and fulfillment. Own and manage PHOS’ new client acquisition systems to keep our sales pipeline organized. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all sales activities and prospect interactions in PHOS’ CRM. Establish individual goals that support organizational goals in regard to sales volume, industry verticals, deliverables, and revenue model, creating a consistent daily/weekly/quarterly cadence. Work closely with proposal writers to provide well-qualified prospects, clearly identified pain points, and detailed insights into each client’s specific needs and opportunities to aid an efficient sales process and clear scopes of work. Work closely with the sales and marketing teams to develop strategies for targeting key industries and optimizing outreach efforts. Participate in regularly scheduled sales and marketing Level 10 Meetings (EOS) reporting to PHOS’ Sales and Marketing Manager weekly on key scorecard metrics. Be a strong voice in PHOS’ marketing efforts to best reach our target audience, helping to guard our mission, brand, and voice in the marketplace. Work with PHOS’ internal marketing team to identify solutions for qualifying leads in our marketing funnel and addressing prospect pain points. Feedback and Reporting Provide regular feedback on lead quality and outreach effectiveness, and report on key metrics and performance indicators. Assess the effectiveness of business development initiatives by analyzing lead conversion rates, proposal win rates, and average deal size. Travel | This position requires travel to events and conferences related to business development. Additionally, all major PHOS events are required to be attended in person (e.g. anniversary, Christmas party, Quarterly Vision Meetings). Key Intangible Characteristics of the Ideal Candidate Because they value a consultative selling approach, the Head of Business Development is an exceptional, empathy-driven listener. With patience, they mine for a client’s real challenges, threats, and opportunities for driving financial, relational, and spiritual value. Diversity & Inclusion at PHOS Creative Our dedication to diversity and inclusion is grounded in our mission to be a place that team members never want to leave and to exemplify the love of Jesus Christ. Discrimination is not loving and is, therefore, anti-missional for PHOS. We in no way discriminate on the basis of race, religion, sexual orientation, or gender identity for purposes of employment opportunities, continued employment, employee benefits, job security, or promotion. Doing so would violate our reason for existing. We want you here. #J-18808-Ljbffr
